Easter Sunday - Our Ongoing Renewal

I know that the central theme of Easter has to do with the resurrection of Jesus, but in Unity we have a little different take on the meaning of this. Our co-founder, Charles Fillmore says in Keep a True Lent, “Every time we rise to the realization of eternal, indwelling life, making union with God Mind, the resurrection of Jesus takes place within us. All thoughts of limitation and inevitable obedience to material law are left in the tomb of materiality.”

That’s why I want to talk about our ongoing renewal. It’s not just a one time event at all. Just like the Easter story of resurrection isn’t limited to one single Sunday, Lent doesn’t have to be limited to 40 days preceding that Sunday. We can engage in the practices of release and affirmation year round, in fact that’s a good idea for our ongoing spiritual practices each day.

It’s all about consciousness. I pray this Easter that you have a personal resurrection in your life at the point of your need. No matter how great your challenge, God in you is greater! Let’s leave behind those limiting thoughts and beliefs and allow the great I AM of our being rise into our ongoing renewal for this life we are leading.

I hope you are able to join us either in person or on Zoom, because it’s always better when you’re with us!
Happy Easter, ya’ll.

Much love,
Rev Donna
