The Challenge of Letting Go

Letting go sounds simple — until we are the ones being asked to release something. A long-held belief. A painful memory. A relationship that has changed form. An expectation that no longer fits who we are becoming. In Unity teachings, letting go is not about loss; it is about spiritual liberation.

At the heart of Unity is the understanding that our true nature is divine. As co-creators with God, we participate in shaping our lives through our thoughts, beliefs, and consciousness. Sometimes the very ideas that once protected or defined us become the limits that keep us from greater good. Letting go is the sacred act of making space for Truth.

Why is letting go such a challenge? Because the ego prefers familiarity, even when it is uncomfortable. Yet Spirit is always inviting us into expansion. When we release what no longer serves our highest good, we make room for new growth, deeper peace, and unexpected blessings.

Letting go is rarely a one-time event. It is a spiritual practice — sometimes daily, sometimes moment by moment. But each time we release with faith, we affirm that God’s life is moving through us in ever-unfolding ways.

This Sunday, we will explore how the spiritual practices of denial and affirmation help us loosen our grip on the past and open our hearts to divine possibility. Together, we will remember that in releasing, we are not losing — we are making room for more of God.

It’s always better when you are with us, either in person or on Zoom. So please join us for the new theme of letting go and letting God!

Much love,
Rev Donna
