Dear Friends,
In his book, “Get Over It! The Truth About What You Know That Just Ain’t So!”, authors Paul Hasselbeck and Bil Holton tell us that Divine Order is one of the most misunderstood New Thought concepts. The traditional notion is that there is a God, “out there” who has painstakingly written an entire script for our daily lives and we are merely the actors. And if we deviate from the script, we risk “all hell” breaking loose!
They ask us readers to take another look at this Ability of Order, in the sense that it is a process, rather than a fixed plan. Everything in this world was brought into being by a process of an idea in the mind, then conceptualizing that idea into a template or blueprint, then building the form out of physical materials.
Using metaphysical shorthand, we call this process, “Mind, Idea, Expression.” It’s the Creative Process, both
in the Universal Divine Mind and in our own, personal minds. We are watching the physical effects of the “Mind, Idea, Expression” process unfolding as our new building. First the concept formed in our collective church member mind, then the idea to consult the builders bloomed in the church leadership. The builders
drafted the blueprints, then the contractors took those plans, to build the actual building.
As little hiccups pop up along the way, we claim “Divine Order” not for God to intervene and make things right. Rather we claim “Divine Order” to open ourselves to the guidance Order brings us to make any necessary changes to our ideas, leading us to the right and perfect expression.
