A Consciousness of God is Supply
In Unity, we teach that true prosperity is not about outer things—it begins within. The title of this week’s talk, “A Consciousness of God is Supply,” reminds us that all abundance flows from our awareness of the Divine Presence. When we are centered in God, we realize that supply is not something we chase after—it is something we express from the fullness of Spirit within us.
Charles Fillmore, Unity’s cofounder, wrote that “prosperity is based on the consciousness of God as the source of all supply.” This means that no matter what appearances may suggest—whether there seems to be lack, limitation, or delay—our first step is always to return to the awareness of God’s presence as infinite good. In this consciousness, we open the channels through which divine ideas, opportunities, and resources can flow into our lives.
When we pray for supply, we are not asking God to give us something we don’t have; rather, we are awakening to the truth that all that God is, we are, and all that God has, is available to us now. The consciousness of God brings forth wisdom, guidance, and creativity—the very substance from which our good manifests.
Each time we affirm divine abundance and trust in the orderly unfolding of life, we strengthen this consciousness. As we do, we begin to live more freely, more generously, and more joyfully. Our thoughts, words, and actions align with the infinite flow of Spirit, and we naturally become channels of blessing to others.
Through a deep and abiding consciousness of God, we find that supply is not something to be acquired—it is something to be realized.
This is our second week of Adventures in Faith, our fall series as we study together the book, Sacred Abundance by Robin Reiter. She calls the second principle, The Bumblebee Principle. It has to do with the fact that due to the structure of this bee, it shouldn’t be able to fly because it goes against common sense for the size of its body and wings. And yet it does quite well, doesn't it? Yet many of the things Jesus accomplished also went against common sense. I invite you to explore this study with us this Sunday, whether in the sanctuary or on Zoom, because it’s always better when you are with us.
Many Blessings,
Rev. Donna
