Change Your Consciousness

In Unity, we teach that the life we experience is deeply connected to the consciousness we hold. Our thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes act as the lens through which we view the world—and what we hold in mind has a powerful influence on the conditions we encounter.

Charles Fillmore, Unity’s cofounder, often reminded us that transformation begins within. If we want to see more health, more peace, more joy, or more prosperity in our lives, we begin not by trying to force the outer world to conform, but by lifting and renewing our inner consciousness. Scripture supports this truth: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds” (Romans 12:2).

When we shift our thinking from fear to faith, from limitation to possibility, from illness to wholeness, we open the way for Spirit to do its healing work. Healing, growth, and harmony are not outside of us—they are divine qualities already planted within us. By changing our consciousness, we allow these qualities to come forth into expression.

So if you are seeking improvement in your health, relationships, or circumstances, consider this gentle invitation: look within. Notice the thoughts you are entertaining. Ask yourself, “Am I holding in mind the truth of wholeness, or am I rehearsing limitation?” Each time we choose thoughts aligned with divine Truth, we step into a greater experience of the kingdom of God within.

Let us remember: the power to change is not only possible—it is present within each of us, right now. When we take responsibility for our consciousness, we become co-creators with God of a life that reflects health, peace, and abundance.

I hope you will join us this last Sunday of August as we explore these ideas. This is the last Sunday of our 10:00 AM service, as we move to 10:30 AM in September. It’s always better when you’re with us-whether in person or on Zoom.

Much Love,
Rev Donna
