Wednesday, March 5, is called Ash Wednesday or Anointing Wednesday in the tradition of the Lenten season. Lent isn’t a biblical tradition and there’s some discussion about when it began in the Catholic tradition, but it is agreed on that Lent isn’t mandated in scripture. In Unity, we see Lent as a time of preparation, a time of renewal, and an opportunity to set our intention for the next 40 days.
When we set intentions for our lives, we create the sacred container where we become the power and the presence of God. So our theme in Unity this month is I AM Guided, which I feel goes hand in hand with my talk title for this Sunday, Call Forth Your Wisdom. This is the perfect time, as we set our intentions for the next 40 days during Lent, to remember that as we strive to live from the Christ in us and as such, we have the power within and can call it forth to guide our every step.
I am looking forward to going on this 40-day journey with you as we learn what are the tools we already have and what new ideas are available to us to know how to best call forth the divine wisdom that lives in us.
I hope you are able to join in person, but whether you’re in the sanctuary or on our Zoom platform, or watching at another time, it’s always better when you’re with us!
Much love,
Rev. Donna
