Wisdom of the Heart

We are continuing on our journey of better understanding the Spiritual gift of Wisdom/Judgment this Sunday.

Did you know that we make tens of thousands (roughly 35,000) decisions a day? Now, most of those are considered “non-conscious,” meaning we may not be aware we are making them, like sensory filtering, shifting focus and basic motor reflexes. Some are considered semi-conscious, including word choices in speech, minor task switching, and pacing. And finally, there are conscious decisions, about 50 to 200 deliberate choices we make each day. Cornell University researchers estimate that we make about
200 decisions on food alone, each day!

In several of the more significant occasions in his life, Jesus took with him the disciples Peter, representing Faith, James and John representing Wisdom/Judgment, and Love respectively. If we have significant decisions to make, we may want to invite the Spiritual Gifts of Faith and Love to help raise our intellectual “knowing” to the level of divine guidance. Opening up our hearts and minds to the wisdom of our Inner Christ will always lead us in the right direction.

Join us this Sunday, in the sanctuary or on Zoom, as we explore how we can level-up our use of the Power of Wisdom/Judgment by inviting Faith and Love to join in the fun!

Blessing you abundantly,
