Everyday is Judgment Day

I had a good laugh this week watching clips from “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In,” a comedy/variety program from the late 1960’s. One of their occasional guests was Sammy Davis, Jr., wearing a long, black robe and long, white wig in his role of the judge, saying quips like, “If your lawyer is sleeping, better give him a nudge. Everybody look alive, ‘cause here comes the judge. Here comes the judge. Here comes the judge…”

Someone had to make a judgment call on whether those comedy sketches were good enough to air on prime-time television. I’d say it was a good call, since I’m still laughing at them over 50 years later. We make judgement calls every day (about 35,000, according to researchers and psychologists), some taking more of our conscious attention than others. And, every day, we make judgement calls we consider “good” and
some “questionable,” just like everyone else.

Many of us are living through some major life changes at this time. So, as we close this month’s review of the Spiritual Power of Wisdom/Judgment, let’s take a look at how we can weigh the apparent facts of life decisions with the spiritual guidance and wisdom that comes through us. Letting Wisdom be our guide, our daily judgement calls will gently lead us in the right and perfect direction.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in person or online this Sunday!

Blessing you abundantly,
Rev. Eileen
